How to make these drool worthy biscuits

General Baking Guide (applies to all recipes):

  • Preheat oven to 170°C (fan 160°C)
  • Line tray with baking paper
  • Roll dough to ½–1 cm thick
  • Bake 18–25 minutes until firm
  • Cool completely before serving
  • Store in airtight jar 5–7 days (or refrigerate up to 2 weeks)

Always introduce new treats slowly and consult your vet if your dog has medical conditions.

1. Calming Lavender & Chamomile Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oat flour
  • ½ cup brown rice flour
  • 1 tbsp dried chamomile (finely ground)
  • ¼ tsp culinary lavender (very finely crushed)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp raw honey
  • 2–3 tbsp water (as needed)

Method

  1. Mix flours and herbs.
  2. Whisk egg and honey, combine with dry mix.
  3. Add water gradually until dough forms.
  4. Roll, cut, bake.

Serving: 1 small biscuit for small dogs, 1–2 for medium/large.

2. Golden Turmeric & Coconut Joint Bites

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oat flour
  • ½ cup chickpea flour
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • Tiny pinch black pepper (improves turmeric absorption)
  • 1 tbsp melted coconut oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2–4 tbsp water

Method

Mix dry ingredients, add egg and coconut oil, form dough, bake.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oat flour
  • ½ cup wholemeal flour
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (finely chopped)

Combine, roll, cut then bake until firm — these may need the full 25 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oat flour
  • ½ cup wholemeal flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ¼ tsp Ceylon cinnamon
  • 1 egg

Combine, roll, cut and bake.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oat flour
  • ½ cup brown rice flour
  • ½ tsp dried lemon balm
  • Pinch culinary lavender
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce


Bake gently until lightly golden.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oat flour
  • ½ cup grated carrot (squeezed dry)
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • 1 egg
  • 1–2 tbsp water if needed

Bake until crisp at edges.

Optional: Make Them Extra Crunchy

For longer shelf life:

  • Turn oven down to 120°C
  • Leave biscuits inside for 30–60 minutes to dehydrate slightly.
